Liverpool put in a commanding performance to secure a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday, keeping their Premier League title hopes alive.
Alexander-Arnold stars as Reds dominate
Trent Alexander-Arnold was in imperious form for Liverpool, providing two assists and causing Villa's defense all sorts of problems. Seven other players were rated as excellent, including Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, and Sadio Mane, who scored the third goal.
The Reds took the lead through Luis Diaz in the third minute, before Joel Matip doubled the advantage just three minutes later. Mane put the game to bed in the 65th minute with a clinical finish. Aston Villa had few chances to get back into the game, with Liverpool's defense standing firm.
The win moves Liverpool within three points of Manchester City with just two games remaining. The Reds will need to win their remaining matches and hope that City slip up if they are to secure their second Premier League title in three years.
